GOVERNOR'S INDUSTRY APPRECIATION LUNCHEON HONOREE CRITERIA

  1. Company must be a relocation, startup, or new branch or have experienced a major employee/physical expansion.
  2. The industry must be consistent with the Nevada State Plan for Economic Diversification and Development and is not gaming, tourism, hospitality, construction, medical, educational/training, wholesale or retail sales. The company must be a business that creates primary jobs and whose primary market extends beyond the State's border. Qualifying companies include:


  3. MANUFACTURING:
    including mining, mining support, assembly, remanufacturing, recycling, and value-added products

    DISTRIBUTION:
    including traditional warehousing and e-commerce

    SERVICE:
    including research and development, mining services, front office operations, such as corporate, regional or divisional headquarters, and back office operations, such as computer service centers, customer service, Internet services, telemarketing, and claims, credit, order, accounting and other processing offices

  4. In Clark or Washoe counties, a new company must expect to create at least ten (10) new jobs within the first twelve(12) months of operation. In the remaining areas of Nevada, the required number of jobs created is reduced to six (6).
  5. To qualify as an expansion, companies must increase their primary employment by at least twenty (20) percent of their total employment, with a minimum of ten (10) new employees.
  6. The company must have located or expanded in the year immediately prior to the lucheon and must actually be in operation by December 31 each year for southern Nevada companies or by June 30 each year for northern Nevada companies.
  7. Companies must pass a rigid background check for compliance with state law and regulations, good ethics and fair business practices, and other attributes that classify them as good corporate citizens to the State of Nevada.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
Nominations are accepted from regional organizations within the company's area of location or the company itself. The state prescribed Honoree Nomination Form must be completed in full and submitted by the specified deadline indicated in the form.
