Nevada Lifestyle
So what personal sacrifice do you need to make to take advantage of all of the business benefits of Nevada? In a word: nothing.
Nevada offers:
- Affordable housing choices in high-energy city, peaceful suburban, and quaint rural settings.
- Excellent educational options for students in K-12, community colleges and universities.
- World-class entertainment and cultural events.
- Unparalleled outdoor recreation opportunities.
Nevada is a state of extraordinary contrasts – from the excitement of the dazzling lights and sounds of the Las Vegas Strip at night, to the tranquility of a silent desert sunset with its rich reds and purples.
The state offers unparalleled outdoor recreational options that include world class golf, skiing and boating, as well as fishing, hunting and hiking in three national parks, two dozen state parks, and several thousand acres of wilderness, national recreation areas, national forests, wildlife refuges and other protected places.
Nevada offers a variety of diversions from world-class entertainment, shopping, golfing and restaurants to the 18 ski resorts and awe-inspiring boating of Lake Tahoe. There's the fishing, hiking and camping of Great Basin National Park, the rock climbing of Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area and the snow-capped Ruby Mountains of Northeastern Nevada -- all beneath blue skies with more than 300 days of sunshine annually.
Nevada's arts, cultural, and entertainment environment is equally rich and diverse. Las Vegas, Reno and Tahoe host the biggest names in entertainment, while Nevadans continue to celebrate our robust heritage with annual events such as the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, the Basque Festival, the many powwows hosted on the Indian reservations, and two of the richest rodeos on the circuit—the Reno Rodeo and the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. Other festivals like Hot August Nights, the Balloon Races, the Best in the West Rib Cook-off, the Reno Air Races, the Genoa Candy Dance, and the Virginia City Camel Races are family favorites with locals in addition to drawing thousands of visitors.
Whether you and your employees lean to the glitter or natural side of life, or both, Nevada has the all the action – or lack thereof– to satisfy the quality of life desires of singles, young couples, families and empty-nesters.
